A branch of a Foreign Company is an extension or the additional presence of the parent company where the company can operate with the same name and carry out the same line of activities. The parent company can also establish a branch to represent their company in other locations as well. The Branch of a Foreign Company can be established in two jurisdictions; namely, the Mainland and the Free Zone.

However, it is now allowed for foreign professional and service companies to open their Branch in Dubai with Ministry of Economy registration. Foreign companies registering their presence as a Representative Office must obtain registration with the Ministry of Economy. The main condition for opening a representative office or a branch of a foreign company in the UAE is to appoint a Service Agent who should be a UAE national.
